3 - 9 - 09 megaphone peaks at top 8!
Around 5 pm Monday March 9th the results finally were posted and unfortunately megaphone did not make the top 4 in WJRR's central florida's best band contests. Even so, all of us in the band are proud to have made it to the top 8. We were excited and humbled to see so many friends and fans not only voting but also campaigning on our behalf for votes. There are a lot of great bands here and a lot of motivated bands so for us to have made it as far as we did is a pretty big deal. Thank you all who voted, we really do appreciate your support.

3 - 2 - 09 megaphone at Daytona Supercross by Honda!
megaphone will perform an 80 min show at Daytona International Speedway for the Daytona Supercross by Honda event this Saturday March 7th at 5:15 pm! Supercross is professional dirt bike motorcycle racing at it's best! This event is part of Daytona bike week. We'll be performing between the qualifying session and the first heat. Your votes have taken us to the next round in WJRR's Central Florida's best band contest. 3 other bands, Fall of Envy, In Violent Times and Irrational have also made it through from this 2nd group. There are still 2 more groups of bands that each have a week to grab votes. Once voting for all 4 groups has completed we'll be given information on round 2. 1 - 24 - 09 New song "Gravitate" on WJRR 101.1 FM
To get your first taste of the new CD tune in to Orlando's Real Rock WJRR 101.1 FM this Sunday night (1/25/09) at 11pm. megaphone's "Gravitate" will kick off this weeks Native Noise show at the top of the hour. Cori Yarckin will be in the studio promoting our Jan 31st show at back booth. You'll hear songs from all three bands (megaphone, Cori Yarckin and Transmit now) that are on the bill that night. Tune in and check it out!

megaphone's "not your enemy" will be featured in the plays of the week section this week on SportsKnight beginning 12-16-08 on UCF-TV and at 5pm SunSports in Central Florida. The show is hosted by Jeff Sharon, a UCF Alum and co-produced by Brian Fernandez, another alum of UCF.

Dirty Drew's Rock Revolution is a video podcast dedicated to unsigned rock bands that don't get the recognition they deserve, according to the shows host Dirty Drew. The newest episode, # 9, is all about megaphone. Check it out. This guy is very cool, funny as hell and we really appreciate him getting behind our band. Thanx Drew!!
10 - 9 - 08 American Idol's Jordin Sparks and megaphone?
megaphone guitarist Paul Smith and lead singer Matt Bloodwell are in the new Jordin Sparks video for the song "I've Got the Music in Me".  This new video, also featuring cameos from David Cook and other American Idol season 7 contestants, will be seen exclusively at Disney's Hollywood Studios new ‘American Idol Experience’ opening in 2009!  In the video, Matt is playing drums and Paul is playing guitar with the band ‘Mulch, Sweat n' Shears’ when Jordin joins them to sing a few lines from the song. You can see them again in a wide angle shot at the finale of the video. The video was shot in early October at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
9 - 27 - 08 megaphone WINS Rock Pink Battle of the Bands!!!!!
WE DID IT! We took it all the way to the finals and won the whole thing! Thank you to all who came out to the show, bought tickets, made donations and bought raffle tickets. What a night!! So when is the big show opening for the national headliner? We will let you know the details as soon as we get them. Stay tuned and thank you again for your support. megaphone fans are amazing!!!
