Rock Pink for the Cure second annual benefit show was announced live on Real Radio’s monsters in the morning show! megaphone, winners of 2008 Rock Pink battle of the bands, will open for Lita Ford at Club Firestone on Saturday May 30th. Tickets go on sale this Friday March 13th through ticketmaster and rockpink.com.

Around 5 pm Monday March 9th the results finally were posted and unfortunately megaphone did not make the top 4 in WJRR’s central florida’s best band contests. Even so, all of us in the band are proud to have made it to the top 8. We were excited and humbled to see so many friends and fans not only voting but also campaigning on our behalf for votes. There are a lot of great bands here and a lot of motivated bands so for us to have made it as far as we did is a pretty big deal. Thank you all who voted, we really do appreciate your support.

megaphone will perform an 80 min show at Daytona International Speedway for the Daytona Supercross by Honda event this Saturday March 7th at 5:15 pm! Supercross is professional dirt bike motorcycle racing at it’s best! This event is part of Daytona bike week. We’ll be performing between the qualifying session and the first heat. For those you you who don’t know, long before Universal’s City Walk had “Rising Star Karaoke” there was the original “Rockstar Karaoke” at Voyage on Sunday nights in Downtown Orlando.  The idea is that anyone can get up on stage with a kick ass rock band, and be the front man (or woman) for a song.  It’s an absolute blast, as I can personally attest to, and a hell of a lot cooler than sitting in your living room playing rock band on your x-box. To get your first taste of the new CD tune in to Orlando’s Real Rock WJRR 101.1 FM this Sunday night (1/25/09) at 11pm. megaphone’s “Gravitate” will kick off this weeks Native Noise show at the top of the hour. Cori Yarckin will be in the studio promoting our Jan 31st show at back booth. You’ll hear songs from all three bands (megaphone, Cori Yarckin and Transmit now) that are on the bill that night.
