What do these two things have in common? James Woodrich and Matt Bloodwell that’s what! megaphone front man Matt Bloodwell is a part time percussionist, and megaphone Bass player James Woodrich is a part time Chapman Stick and Bass player in the Blue Man Orlando band. “We are there once, maybe twice a week. The show is awesome and we both feel fortunate to be able to be a part of it.” Says Matt “There is a good chance if you go see Blue Man Group at Universal Orlando, you may see one or both of us playing.”

The Orlando Weekly has started their Best of Orlando readers poll voting again. Vote megaphone for BEST MAINSTREAM ROCK ACT! In 2007 and 2008, we were voted best rock/pop act and best live act. In 2009, we didn’t even promote this thing and we still got 2nd place. Since then, we’ve released a new album and had some huge shows, so we’d like to continue that momentum by winning 1st again this year. So, take a few moments, you’re already online, and vote for us and tell everyone you know to do the same!!
For the vote to count, you have to vote for at least 15 categories, click here for some suggestions!

We’ve recently recorded a rock version of Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi”, and if you were at FMF 2010, you may have seen us play it live. We’ve taken footage from FMF as well as footage from some other shows, including our performance at Amway Arena opening for AC/DC, and put together a sweet video. Check it out here on YouTube and share it with your friends!

The website Rockbandaid.com, your source for all things Rock Band, posted a feature interview with us on April 5th. These guys are ultra cool and totally have their fingers on the pules of the video game craze that is Rock Band. To have these guys feature us is really an honor. It’s a great interview and they really ask some great questions.
“Continuing their trend of good fortune into 2010, megaphone is releasing tracks on the RBN, and currently has three songs available in the Rock Band Network: “Not Your Enemy,” “Gravitate,” and “My Favorite New Disaster.” I got a chance to talk to the band about themselves, their music, and the Rock Band Network.”
Check it out!

G4 TV did a segment about the PAX East conference, a video game conference in Boston. As they were talking with Harmonix about the new Rock Band Network, they showed clips of someone scrolling through the store menu alphabetically and Not Your Enemy and Disaster are right next to each other. It was really quick but we noticed it. Later, they showed another clip of someone scrolling through artists and it showed “megaphone” with all three songs underneath.

Every once in a while in the Rock Band blog, the Harmonix developers pick their favorite RBN songs. One of them picked Gravitate. Here’s what they said: megaphone - “Gravitate” - I really like the chorus on “Gravitate”. There’s a cool guitar riff that kicks it off each time, and the melody is just fun to sing.
Check out their blog here!
